Finding The Right Supplements For You Will Be Key For Better Health!
Unless you are eating a pristine diet, it is likely that you will benefit from supplementing. Also, when fighting a chronic infection, such as lyme disease, it is very important to make sure you have adequate vitamins and minerals in your body to have the best possible immune system, boost energy levels and mood, calm down an over active nervous system, protect the heart, support joints and tissues, aid the body in the detoxification process and improve sleep, which is when the body repairs and rejuvenates.
Supplements/Herbs have been extremely helpful for me. They can be costly, as you will want to purchase and take high quality supplements/herbs. After ten years of experimenting and research and with the help of my LLMD, I have finally come up with the most beneficial supplements for me. I mainly purchase supplements from, Amazon, LifeSpa (Ayurvedic Herbs), Pure Formulas, Sprouts, Santa Clara Drug (compounding pharmacy), a few from my LLMD and on occasion, Whole Foods.
My Supplement Regime-
Magnesium- I have found this mineral super beneficial with tight muscles, muscle spasms, calming down my nervous system, which leads to a more relaxed state with less tremors and twitching. It also helps me with pain caused by inflammation, promotes better sleep, improves cognitive function and so much more.
Over half of all Americans are magnesium deficient. Magnesium deficiency is linked to numerous health problems. I take magnesium in two different forms. I inject magnesium sulfate up to four times per week and I supplement with MagTab SR daily. I have found the MagTab SR to be the best in oral form. Magnesium is a powerful natural muscle relaxer.
Also with the new discoveries published in the LifeExtension magazine on magnesium l-threonate and it’s ability to enhance better cognitive function and works on halting early Alzheimers disease, I have added it to my regimin. It is though to cross the blood brain barrier better than other forms of magnesium. I have noticed better cognitive function in the first week of use and find this truly amazing! You can read the LifeExtension article on magnesium l-threonate here.
Methylcobalamin (B12)- is without a doubt a health enhancing supplement in which I have found to be very beneficial. Methylcobalamin is the most potent form of vitamin B12 found in nature. I take this supplement in two forms. I inject it at home up to 4 times per week and I also supplement it orally through my nasal passages. We need methylcobalamin for the enhanced health of our immune system, circulatory and nervous systems. Methylcobalamin b12 can also improve our mood and sense of well-being.
After reading the 2011 Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements, I have made the switch for the core supplements (antioxidants & minerals) to USANA products with plenty of confidence and research to back it up.
Metagenics makes some quality and trustworthy supplements and medical food products. I really like their product called Ultra Plus pH. Ultra Plus pH is a medical food formulated to provide enhanced, specialized nutritional support for patients with chronic fatigue syndrome, and includes macro- and micronutrients to address altered energetic function and liver detoxification. They have a whole line of medical foods supporting different functions of our bodies.
I like to mix the medical food powder with coconut, or almond milk. It is very tasty and serves as a meal as it is filling and filled with nutrients. It is so handy when you want something healthy but are not able to shop for or prepare a meal. It’s not cheap, but they are good products that you don’t have to use everyday.

Compounded Topical Pain Cream- Ketamine 5%, Ketoprofen 2%, Cyclobenzaprine 2% in a gel base. I have tried them all! Since I have severe neck and back pain from a nearly fatal car accident, I use this several times a day and it does do it’s job!!! I get this prescribed by my LLMD and filled at Santa Clara Drug. I am compelled to inform you that this topical pain cream is not for everyone. It is a powerful medication and includes Ketamine. Ketamine is an analgesia that is used in human and veterinary medicine. Some people have reported hallucinations. I have not personally experienced hallucinations while using it. It can make you sleepy and that is reported on the prescription label. Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). As such, it possesses analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory properties. Cyclobenzaprine, a muscle relaxant, is used with rest, physical therapy, and other measures to relax muscles and relieve pain and discomfort caused by strains, sprains, and other muscle injuries. I weigh the difference between chronic neck pain or feeling more sleepy. I choose less neck pain!
Probiotics- Saccharomyces Boulardii by Jarrow Formulas, Theralac, by Master Supplements. These are my main probiotics taken several times a day. I have tried many different kinds and these are the ones that are working for me. I cannot stress enough how important taking Probiotics is. Especially while taking Antibiotics for any length of time. These are quality probiotics that have proven to work against candida/yeast.
Liposomal Glutathione- Antioxidant and great for liver detoxification. I feel immediate fatigue relief after taking this. I get this at my LLMD’s office.
Artemisinin- I use this, usually in combination with Malarone when Babesia (Lyme Co-Infection) is rearing it’s ugly head. I pick this up at my LLMD’s office. Highly effective against Babesia.
My Favorite Ayurvedic Herb
Bacopa- This herb is used to enhance memory function, to ward off depression and anxiety. In many parts of the world, Bacopa is used to treat Alzheimer’s, Attention Deficit Disorder and other health conditions. I would like to add that I have been able to decrease my antidepressant since taking this herb.
